CCC - Chardonnay Warmup

It was the day of the first London tasting of the Cluny Cellar Club. The wines had been sourced, the club members were all quivering with excitement. Captain Frazer had given the clap to a few boats at Henley and it was time to crack the first bottle. Trains were back on track after the derailing the week before. The club members only wished they could be half as quick witted when describing their wines as Mick Lynch was while eviscerating the British press the week before.

But maybe the words from the father of one of the winemakers we’d seen on our last trip would suffice to summarise all that is good with wine:
